A permanent link is known as a permalink.  A permalink will take you to a source through any paywall, firewall, and/or ezproxy server.  Permalinks are preferred as saving the URL while on campus will not work off campus.

You can find the permalink for an article located in a database in the Tools section.  Either it will indicate 'Permalink' or it wll be a link under the 'Share' tool.

You can also email yourself a copy of the article and sometimes, you can upload the article to your OneDrive or your GoogleDrive.  These options are also available in the Tools section.
